Michael Stevens

Michael Stevens is a growth-focused executive with 25+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, specializing in commercial strategy, marketing , and bringing disruptive technologies to market. He has built a career at the intersection of science, innovation, and execution—helping early-stage companies transform breakthrough ideas into scalable, commercially successful solutions.
Michael has led high-impact initiatives in the dental and biotech sectors, including the U.S. commercial launch and fundraising strategy for InnerView at Perimetrics and the emerging technology portfolio at Valkyrie BioScience. His expertise spans go-to-market development, national sales infrastructure, advisory board creation, M&A, capital strategy, and strategic partnerships.
Known for his ability to translate complex science into clear commercial value, Michael builds strong relationships with clinicians, investors, and industry leaders. He has collaborated with some of the most respected voices in dentistry and biotechnology to drive adoption, credibility, and market traction.
With a deep commitment to scientific integrity, operational excellence, and improving patient outcomes, Michael continues to focus on advancing ethical, data-driven solutions that elevate the standard of care across healthcare.
Douglas Hansen, Ph.D

Dr. Douglas P. Hansen cofounded 3Dio (now Valkyrie BioSciences) in 2019 and served as President and CEO until September, 2025, when Michael Stevens came aboard. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from BYU and an MS in Physics from UCLA. From personal experience, he feels the most satisfying experience an entrepreneur can have is to see the customer’s passion for that new product that solves their problem for the first time.
He is an innovation-focused executive with over 30 years of experience in bringing high-tech products and technologies to market, having had previous success in the international consumer electronics ecosystem and in long-term data storage. He has broad experience in international business, building relationships with multiple major corporations in Europe and Asia; in technical business development, OEM marketing and sales, in nano-scale and micro-scale device fabrication, testing, and evaluation; and in patents, business contracting, and corporate governance.
Matt Hunt

Matthew J. Hunt Sr. is a dedicated sales and marketing professional with over 35 years of experience driving corporate initiatives and achieving sales targets for startups, turnarounds and fortune 500 organizations.
He has been directly responsible for new product launches, from concept to launch, and sales team development in the global capital equipment medical device industry. He has a proven track record of expanding and strengthening market share, customer support, and long-term business relationships to drive corporate profitability. In his work, he employs successful strategies to accelerate adoption in disruptive technologies.
Matthew brings wide-ranging dental knowledge, including distribution and direct sales organizations throughout the globe. His previous corporations include BIOLASE, Henry Schein, DMD and New Image, serving in various executive roles, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Director of Exclusives, General Manager.
Dr. Lou Shuman

Lou Shuman DMD CAGS is the president and CEO of Cellerant Consulting Group, a founder of DSO Technology Solutions, and co-founder of LightForce Orthodontics. He is professionally known for his expertise in bringing new technologies from all over the world into dentistry.
Highly respected in the dental corporate and education community, he is a Venturer in Residence for the Harvard i-Lab, and a member of the Board of Directors at Lightforce Orthodontics, Sleep Architects. He is a member of the clinical advisory boards and editorial boards at Dentistry Today, Dental Products Report, Dental Economics, Orthodontic Practice US and Dental Sleep Practice Journal. Dr. Shuman is the creator of the prestigious Cellerant “Best of Class” Technology and “Best of Class” Hygiene Awards, unbiased nonprofit initiatives that, in conjunction with the leading experts in the field, select annually the most important technologies and products in the industry.
He served as president of the Pride Institute for 6 years and Vice President of Clinical Education and Strategic Relations at Align Technology for 7 years. He has been chosen by Dentistry Today as a Leader in Consulting each year since 2006. Recently, he was awarded the American Mobile & Teledental Alliance’s highest honor, the Denobi Pinnacle Achievement Award, which recognizes an individual or company whose leadership and ongoing contributions have dramatically impacted the dental profession.
Going forward, the award will be named in his honor and known as the Dr. Lou Shuman Denobi Pinnacle Achievement Award. He was also honored in 2021 as a Global Summits Institute Doctor-to-Doctor World’s Top 100 Doctors
Sandy Porritt

Sandy Porritt is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience leading clinical strategy, innovation, and growth within the dental industry. As Vice President of Clinical Affairs, Sandy brings deep industry expertise, strategic leadership, and a proven ability to translate clinical insight into meaningful business outcomes. Highly respected among clinicians and industry stakeholders, she is recognized for her expertise in Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement and for building trusted, high-impact partnerships. Sandy is passionate about developing dynamic teams, mentoring leaders, and creating platforms that empower dental professionals while advancing organizational growth and innovation.
Dr. Clark Turner, Ph.D

Dr. D. Clark Turner earned his B.S. in chemistry from Brigham Young University in 1985, and a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from BYU in 1991. He is the founder of Turner Innovations, an early stage research and development company focused on bridging the gaps between fundamental research and commercialization of technologies based on that research. Previously, he was the founder and CEO of Aribex, and developer of the NOMAD handheld portable x-ray system. Dr. Turner has published over 20 scientific papers and presentations, and has been granted 12 patents with several patent applications pending. In 2011 he was awarded the Utah Governor’s Medal for Science and Technology in recognition of his accomplishments.
Todd R. Newman
Valkyrie BioScience, Inc.

Todd R. Newman is a Certified Public Accountant and founding partner of Frost Dana Newman LLP, where he specializes in providing tax, accounting, and strategic advisory services to dental practices and other closely held professional organizations. Throughout his career, Todd has advised countless dental professionals on practice formation, tax planning, cash flow management, capital expenditures, and practice transitions, including acquisitions, affiliations, and succession planning.
Todd serves on the Board of Directors of Valkyrie BioScience, Inc. and is a member of the Company’s Audit Committee, where he applies his extensive experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and risk management to support strong corporate governance and financial oversight.
Todd began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and is a licensed CPA in Nevada and Utah. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Jason Wood, Esq.

Jason Patrick Wood is a partner in the Law Firm of Wood & Delgado. Jason's primary emphasis is on business transactions for dentists and doctors: leases, purchase agreements, partnership agreements, shareholders agreements, corporations, associate agreements and other business-related legal needs. He has authored many articles relative to the business side of dentistry which have appeared in Dental Economics, CDA Journal, The New Dentist, Dentaltown Magazine, Colorado Dental Association Journal, Matsco's: Strategies For Success as well as numerous dental society newsletters. He is a moderator for Dentaltown on all forums related to the business side of dentistry and enjoys helping and educating doctors throughout the United States. Prior to joining Wood & Delgado, Jason worked in Washington, D.C. for the Speaker of the House in connection with Presidential and U.S. Congressional campaigns and thereafter he worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, drafting legislation for various House committees.
